I had been a member of the Equinox gym for years and always loved the group fitness classes. As I got older and was also diagnosed with osteoporosis, I began to avoid many of the classes due to their high impact and fast pace. There were many new instructors and I was simply not confident in their knowledge of fitness. Jenn came highly recommended and I decided to call her on Dec. 31st, 2016. My first words were “This is not a New Year’s resolution. I am interested in personal training with someone who is not only knowledgeable, but will do things in a safe manner.” That was the best call I ever made. She started me off slowly, and listened to my goals and fears. She worked with me to improve my balance and I can now hold both headstands and handstands, something I was petrified to do in the past. I can also climb a rope and do pullups. When I finally agreed to go to one of Jenn’s bootcamps, I held a plank position longer than anyone else- 3 minutes! Jenn is not only excellent in what she does, but she is energetic and has the biggest smile. I am already small but Jenn has truly made me Mighty! |

I really didn't expect much when I first started working out with Jenn. I was also doubtful about some of the exercises and the amount of time we were spending on them. Pullup? Is she crazy? She wants me to do a pushup all the way down to the floor? No way! I told her on day one that I don't have an athletic bone in me, so don't push it too much with me! |
Alexa, nicknamed Pro-Lexa for how proactive and positive she is!When I met Jenn, my goal was to be able to do the monkey bars for a Spartan Race. I was afraid to reach from one bar to the next. Jenn helped me get stronger and overcome my fear until I was able to soar across the monkey bars effortlessly. Then we mastered chin-ups, then pull-ups, and even handstands. Now we're working on handstand pushups! I feel great about how strong I have become and how much leaner and more defined my body is. Jenn can boost my energy even after a long day. Our workouts have consistently been the best part of my day and I actually find myself looking forward to the gym instead of dreading it anymore! I didn’t need to lose weight, but I wanted to feel strong and not soft. Well now I walk in to the gym and deadlift 245lbs with perfect form, and people notice that I am strong. I show up at family gatherings and people comment on how my muscles look. I do five pullups in a row, and my arms may feel like Jell-o, but then they recover and do it again. My abs were once a fantasy but now they actually help me swing my feet up to the bar, hold planks and maintain balance. I also discovered a sort of natural talent for handstands. I worked with Jenn for 3.5 years in-person and remotely. During that time, Jenn guided me through some of my greatest exercise accomplishments. I went from never deadlifting before to hitting a PR of 335lbs for 3 reps; from not being able to jump rope to being able to do 100 single unders consecutively; from not being able to do a pushup to doing 10 pushups in a row! Jenn is extremely knowledgeable about all things exercise and fitness and was able to create a unique program for me that developed my full body strength to a degree I never knew possible and she kept things fresh so I was never bored! |
